Origins of this Roots and Shoots chapter

Our Girl Scout Troop wanted to help people, animals and the environment.  One of our troop members, Lia, taught our troop about Jane Goodall and all she has done for our world.  We immediately wanted to help.  So for our Girl Scout Bronze Project, we decided to create a Roots and Shoots chapter in Pittsford, NY. We did research on Jane Goodall and Roots and Shoots and then we developed a plan to create our chapter.  We came up with mottos and logos for our new chapter and thought about how to advertise and get people involved.

Why Found a Chapter?

We found that there are a lot of Roots and Shoots chapters in the United States, but none in the Rochester area.  We wanted to fill this gap by creating a Roots and Shoots chapter so kids in our area could get involved!
